Craving Attention is a foam-board sign positioned on to a wall at head height. The piece explores a redesigned version of the health and safety signs for Caution, Attention and Stop creating a new sign. The new signs symbols are created with crisp triangles, a donut and a sausage with a pea underneath. This creates a humorous versions of a serious caution sign. The piece examines shape and form in visual language examining how these languages are used in signage to conveys quick emergency messages visually. It is positioned on foam-board to look seamlessly like other safety signs and positioned in an institutional space where these said sign would usually be found. This is key to the piece as its inconspicuous nature is part for its humorous impact, the unexpected founded in an everyday sign.
